In-Reach Heathen Prison Services was featured today on the Bits of Heathenry Podcast. Along with the other topics that we addressed, we discussed some of the varying viewpoints within Heathenry on the worthiness of Heathen prison work.

GoFundMe for Heathen Presence at Parliament of the World's Religions
This year, for the first time, there will be a Heathen presence at the Parliament of the World's Religions in Salt Lake City, UT (October 15-19). This is a significant opportunity for Heathen leaders to engage and to network with leaders of other religions. This event will increase the visibility of Heathenry in the public eye and set a precedent for inclusion in future endeavors.
The Parliament will feature the following Heathen presentations:
"Staving off Ragnarök: A Heathen Response to Climate Change" (Diana Paxson) on Saturday, October 17 at 10:00 AM

and
"Rebuilding the Altars: Reconstructing Indigenous Pagan Faiths for Today" (Diana Paxson, Robert L. Schreiwer, Erynn Laurie, Elisheva Nesher, Kirk Thomas, and Gwendolyn Reese) on Sunday, October 18 at 8:15 AM.
Additionally, there will be a Heathen information booth (#878) with pamphlets (including In-Reach flyers) and books for distribution and sale. An Urglaawe altar will be present in a shared Pagan Faiths space somewhere in rooms A-G in sections 150 or 151 (clarifying information will be provided as it becomes available).
All of this costs money, so a GoFundMe effort has been set up to help to defray the participants' costs. If you are unable to donate money, please help by passing along the link.
Thank you!

Donations at Philadelphia Pagan Pride Day
Philadelphia Pagan Pride Day is Saturday, September 5, at Clark Park, S. 43rd Street and Baltimore Avenue.
The drop-off spot is the altar in the center of the park's Gravel Circle. In the event of rain, please drop off the items at the Welcome Tent.
Most any book is appreciated, though some titles are needed more than others. We have had a recent request from a Wisconsin facility for books of a Heathen and Pagan nature.
Thanks to everyone for their support!

In-Reach Current Visitation Network
In-Reach is currently working, whether directly or indirectly, in prisons in New Jersey, California, Minnesota, Washington, and Indiana in the US, in British Columbia in Canada, and Wales in the UK.
We welcome more folks to get involved, and donations to The Troth's In-Reach Heathen Prison Services Fund or Prison Literature Fund are always welcomed, as are donations to Distelfink Sippschaft's In-Reach work. All are tax deductible.
Donations to Distelfink Sippschaft may be done online via PayPal by visiting www.urglaawe.net.
Donations to The Troth are most easily done by check, if you are joining the organization online, as part of your membership dues. When paying via PayPal, please include a note to seller (a field down on the bottom of the window prior to submitting payment) to direct $5.00 of your dues to the In-Reach Heathen Prison Services Fund or the Prison Literature Fund.
Donation checks may be mailed to either organization at the same address:

In-Reach Updates
Hail!
In-Reach volunteers have been busy catching up on the many requests that have come in for correspondence or information. The Facebook group is our primary conversation point, and we always welcome more volunteers.
In addition to The Troth's In-Reach Heathen Prison Services and Distelfink's Mental Heath Facility Services, we are looking at creating an In-Reach Heathen Visitation Services program to visit Heathens who are homebound, hospitalized, or otherwise unable to interface with their communities due to medical or health issues.
In-Reach will be using The Troth's email address going forward: inreach@thetroth.org
The next dropoff point is Krampuslauf Philadelphia, Saturday, December 13, 2014, in Liberty Lands Park in Philadelphia, PA.
